Empathy : definition – from Merriam Webster
The action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experiences of another
In the Cult, Empathy is disqualifying. It is preached against and written against. They believe it shows weakness. It almost reaches the level of a sin in the cult.
Yet, if you don’t show it for the leader of the cult or a member of the cult, it seems to also reach almost a sin level.
So if it becomes just a “performance” to another member of the cult, how can it still be a genuine human reaction as it is to a person by affiliation and not to a person by situation.
